Citizens,
We’re so happy to report that Vinyl Nation is back. On the eve of the first of three Record Store Day Drops this weekend, we’re releasing Vinyl Nation in virtual cinemas tomorrow, Friday August 28.
Like our one-weekend screening in April, we’re partnering again with independent record stores, but this time, we’ve also got arthouse movie theaters, live concert venues, film festivals and a few vinyl coffee shops on board to sell tickets. All told, you can purchase your ticket through any one of our over 100 partners in 34 states (plus D.C.) and we’re splitting the proceeds 50/50 with each of them.
Go to our website at vinylnationfilm.com and click “Where to Watch” to find a ticket partner near you. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Fri. Aug. 28 and are $12 for a 72-hour digital rental. You’ll be able to watch Vinyl Nation on your computer, tablet, smartphone or mirrored to your television via Chromecast, Apple TV or similar device.
Biggest news of all: Vinyl Nation will be available the entire fall through Thanksgiving weekend. Last day of availability will be Monday, November 30.
Because we didn’t get to take Vinyl Nation across the country this summer as planned, we’re going to meet you all virtually as part of…
The Vinyl Nation Virtual Tour
During each stop of our virtual tour, we’ll be discussing local music communities during and after the pandemic throughout America with a panel of guests who know the grooves and get-downs of your favorite city the best. Then we’ll open it up to your questions, recommendations and stories.
Conversations will be 60 minutes in the evening and will take place on Zoom.
Schedule so far is…
Kansas City, MO (Thursday, Sept 3)
Featuring Judy Mills, owner of Mills Record Company (in our movie), Chris Hazelton (Kansas City musical polymath and founder of The Freedom Affair band, also in our movie), and father/daughter vinyl family Byron and Jada Hester.
San Francisco Bay Area (Tuesday, Sept. 8)
Featuring, from Vinyl Nation, musicians Kelley Stoltz and Allyson Baker, musical svengali David Katznelson and DJ Ashleyanne Krigbaum.
Austin, TX (Thursday, Sept. 10th)
Featuring End of An Ear Record Store owner Dan Plunkett, film editor and composer Lauren Sanders (who created our trailer!)
Chicago (Tuesday, Sept. 15)
Featuring father/daughter vinyl family David and Marion Deal.
With many more cities and guests to come.
We’ll be keeping you updated on everything that happens via the Vinyl Nation Facebook page and Instagram account. And should you have questions about your tickets or advice or recommendations for us, Kevin and Chris are the only people who answer the phone at info@vinylnation.com.
