Vinyl Nation News on Wax: Special Edition #10
Benefit Online Screening for Indie Record Stores, This Weekend, Apr. 18-19!
Citizens and Friends, new and OGs.
Just a reminder, you can see our documentary, Vinyl Nation , this weekend April 18-19, 2020, as a benefit we are doing with Record Store Day to support America’s independent record stores in this very difficult time.
Here’s the trailer:
Independent record stores all over America are selling digital tickets through our ticketing partner, Brown Paper Tickets, for this special online screening on what would have been RSD 2020 weekend, i.e. Saturday April 18 and Sunday April 19th. (RSD 2020 has been postponed to June 20).
Tickets are $10 plus sales tax and Brown Paper Tickets processing fee (so roughly $12 all told).
Record stores selling tickets keep 100% of the $10 ticket price.
That's right. All of it.
Here’s how it works:
Find your favorite record store on Record Store Day’s master list of stores currently selling tickets. So far we’ve got 170 record stores in 43 states signed up.
Contact your favorite participating record store to get their Vinyl Nation ticket link. Most participating stores have posted it to their social media channels like Facebook, so check there first. Many have created Facebook events with the ticket link. If you can’t find their link, email them directly. You can find the store’s email using the Record Store Day master list link to your favorite store.
Your favorite record store might not be on the list. If not, CONTACT THEM and get them to sign up. All they have to is fill out this form and they're in: https://tinyurl.com/VinylNationRSD2020
Rules: Only physical record stores in the U.S. with an address please. No national chains. We will verify each store’s request.
Tomorrow, Friday, April 17th, ticket purchasers will receive a URL and password to access the movie. Vinyl Nation will be available 12 midnight Saturday Morning EDT, April 18 to 11:59 PM Sunday April 19th PDT. And once it’s gone, it’s gone.
We’ll be posting regular updates throughout the weekend at the Vinyl Nation Facebook page, at our Instagram handle and Kevin’s twitter feed.
And let’s remember how much record stores have made our lives better.
They need us now. Let’s not let ‘em down.
Be with us, ya’ll, in 33 and 45,
Kevin and Chris
